2016 MALTA Year Set

A Brilliant uncirculated set incorporating the eight Maltese euro coins as well as a €2 coin depicting the prehistoric temples of Ggantija. This coin is the first of a series of seven dedicated to Maltese prehistoric monuments that are also listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. The Ggantija Temples complex in Gozo is one of the best preserved on the Maltese islands. The site dates to 3,600 - 3,200 B.C. and is one of the oldest free-standing monuments in the world. Ggantija was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1980.

All the coins in the set were struck at the Monnaie de Paris in France. The national sides of the euro coins and the commemorative €2 coin were designed by the Maltese artist, Noel Galea Bason.
