The United States Mint certifies this 18-coin set contains only genuine United State Mint proof coins, produced to the exacting standards of the United State mint. Each coin bears the "S" mint mark of the United States Mint at San Francisco, and is produced from carefully selected coin blanks that have been burnished to a high lustre.
The 2009 United States Mint Proof Set includes:
Six quarter-dollar coins honouring the District of Columbia and the five US Territories: the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the US Virgin Islands and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. George Washington's mage appears on the obverse of each quarter. The reverse of each quarter is distinctly different with images emblematic of the District of Columbia and each of the US Territories.
Also included in this set are four different one-cent coins in recognition of the bicentennial of President Abraham Lincoln's birth and the 100th anniversary of the first issuance of the Lincoln cent. Lincoln's image appears on the obverse of each one-cent coin. The reverses reflect four different designs, each on representing a different aspect, or theme, of the life of President Lincoln: Birth and Early Childhood in Kentucky (1809-1816), Formative Years in Indiana (1816-1930), Professional Life in Illinois (1830-1861) and Presidency in Washington DC (1861-1865). Each Lincoln one-cent coin has a composition of 95% copper, its original metal content when first introduced in 1909.
Completing the set are four Presidential $1 Coins honouring past Presidents of the United States: William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, James K Polk and Zachary Taylor; the Jefferson nickel, Roosevelt dime, Kennedy half-dollar, and Native American $1 Coin featuring Sacagawea on the obverse and the "Spread of Three Sisters" agricultural on the reverse.
This set includes a certificate of authenticity and comes in the original mint packaging, including a protective hard plastic case and an outer box.
