2010 1/2oz Silver Proof SEA LIFE I - SEAHORSE

The 2010 Proof Silver Seahorse coin, which is fourth in a five-coin series, features a colorized Seahorse. The Ian Rank-Broadley likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are shown on the obverse.

With several species endemic to Australian tropical and temperate marine waters, the glimpse of a Seahorse's beautiful equine shape is especially gratifying to those visiting our reefs.

The coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1/2oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.

Coloured Reverse Design

The coin’s reverse depicts a starfish in colour and includes The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.  Incorporated into the design are the inscriptions AUSTRALIAN SEA LIFE – THE REEF and SEAHORSE.

Australian Legal Tender

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 2010 year-date on its obverse.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 10,000 of these coins.
