2017 Silver Proof 50p - Benjamin Bunny

CELEBRATING BEATRIX POTTER AND HER LITTLE TALES

In 2017 the Royal Mint issued this beautiful Silver Proof Coloured Fifty Pence, featuring Benjamin Bunny, to celebrate one of Great Britain’s most celebrated authors.  In 1890, Beatrix bought a rabbit, Benajamin Bouncer followed by Peter in 1893.

The Tale of Benjamin Bunny was published in 1904, and is the sequel to Beatrix Potter's most famous book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit. The book tells the story of Peter Rabbit, and his cousin, Benjamin, trying to retrieve Peter's clothes from Mr McGregor's garden.

Each coin is presented in a clear acrylic presentation case and is accompanied by information on the character and quotes from Beatrix's original tales.  Housed in a presentation box, accompanied with a certificate of authenticity.
