This proof set of all five 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters is a must-have in any coin collection. The proof coin set comes in special packaging with quarters encased in a protective lens you’ll be proud to display.

The America the Beautiful 2010 Quarters Proof Set coins feature sharp relief thanks to being struck at least twice in specially fitted dies, and a mirror-like background from highly polished coin blanks. As proof coins their frosted, sculpted foregrounds give them a special cameo effect.

Each quarter in the 2010 proof set features a common obverse (heads) with the 1932 portrait of George Washington by John Flanagan, restored to bring out subtle details and the beauty of the original model. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “QUARTER DOLLAR.”

The 2010 reverse (tails) of these coins honour the sites below with the following designs:

Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas:

The quarter’s reverse features the park’s headquarters building with the National Park Service emblem to the right — all are in the background. The park’s fountain is in the foreground. Inscriptions include HOT SPRINGS, ARKANSAS, 2010 and E PLURIBUS UNUM.

Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming:

The design for the reverse or tails side of the quarter depicts Old Faithful with a bison in the foreground as well as the inscriptions YELLOWSTONE, WYOMING, 2010 and E PLURIBUS UNUM.

Yosemite National Park in California :

The Yosemite quarter reverse or tails side design depicts El Capitan, which is 3,000 feet at the tallest point and is the largest monolith of granite in the world. Inscriptions on the quarter-dollar include YOSEMITE, CALIFORNIA, 2010 and E PLURIBUS UNUM.

Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona:

The Grand Canyon quarter reverse depicts a view of the granaries above the Nankoweap Delta in Marble Canyon near the Colorado River. Inscriptions on the coin include GRAND CANYON, ARIZONA, 2010 and E PLURIBUS UNUM.

Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon :

The quarter’s reverse depicts a view of Mount Hood with Lost Lake in the foreground. Inscriptions include MOUNT HOOD, OREGON, 2010 and E PLURIBUS UNUM.

2010 marks the first annual release of five quarters in the U.S. Mint America the Beautiful Quarters® Program. Launched in 2010, the 12-year initiative includes 56 quarters featuring reverse designs depicting some of our most cherished national parks and other national sites.
