2018 1oz Silver Proof Lunar DOG - Coloured

In 2018, we celebrate the 11th animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac. The birth years for people include 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006 and 2018. Those born under this sign are said to be loyal, amiable, kind and friendly.

Each coin is meticulously struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver in proof quality.

The reverse of each coin depicts a German Shepherd Dog and pup lying in grass with Chinese peony flowers in the background. The Chinese character for ‘dog’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Dog’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2018 year-date and the monetary denomination are shown on each coin’s obverse.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 10,000 of the 2018 Year of the Dog 1oz Silver Proof Coloured Edition.

The coin is housed in a stylish red and black display case with lunar themed shipper, and accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
